What To Expect When Visiting With Us

What To Wear

We believe clothing should not keep you from worshiping God. At Marshall Drive, you may see some in suits and others in jeans. Whatever we wear, as we meet in public, we should remember to be modest and respectful toward others.

Sunday School

Sunday School provides us a time to study the Bible together. We use a booklet that discusses a Biblical event and we have a leader to point out interesting facts and answer our questions as she/he teaches the lesson. We are free to ask our questions, participate in discussions, or just sit and listen.

Singing

Singing can do a heart and soul good like a medicine. We welcome everyone to join in and sing hymns with us, but we want you to feel comfortable if you only want to sit and listen, letting God speak to your heart through the words of a hymn.

Your Children

Worshiping

Our worship probably follows more the old traditional services. We sing hymns of praise and pray for guidance and blessings. We also hear relevant announcements about our church family and church activities. The highlight of our service is a sermon by our pastor or visiting preacher.

Invitation

We do extend an invitation at the end of our service. We believe that when Jesus said to come to Him if we are weary and heavy laden that He would give us rest, He meant what He said. If God has been speaking to a person’s heart and the person feels convicted to approach God, we want to be sure we provide a way to honor that invitation.

Greetings

You can expect someone to greet you and introduce themselves, letting you know that you are welcome to be with us.

Giving

Our church members either give through Sunday School or during worship service or perhaps both. Our visitors should not feel obligated to give but are welome to do so. All donations help us support our building, missionaries, pastor, and other church ministries.

Salvation

Nicodemus, a Jewish leader, didn’t want anyone to know that he responded to God’s invitation, so he approached Jesus in the dark of night. When Nicodemus asked Jesus how a man can be born again, in part, this is what Jesus answered: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:14-17)KJV
